Not every roof needs the hot built-up treatment, and they’re not generally recommended for homes and buildings with heavily sloped roofs. Hot built-up roofing is a reliable option for flat or low-sloped roofs, sealing it and providing the protection your roof needs from water, UV rays, and pests.

Hot built-up roofing involves a process of laying down a hot adhesive and placing a series of roofing layers.

First, a liquefied bitumen (tar) is spread across your roof’s surface before a ply layer of fabrics, fiberglass, and other organic materials are laid on top of it. To finish it off, a fine layer of gravel and small stones is placed on top to protect the roofing from the elements.

Hot built-up roofs can last up to 30 years! On top of this, hot built-up roofs need very little maintenance and are made of fire-resistant materials that help protect you and your family.
